Volunteers in the central warehouse for the humanitarian drive “Banija is our house” in Vrginmost, launched by the Serb National Council, have their hands full – a multitude of donations are sorted, recorded, and shipped to the field. Precisely for this reason the women’s section of the Vukovar and Srijem County branch of the Independent Democratic Serb Party arrived to Virginmost to speed up the process and assist in packaging on Saturday, January 16.
At the same time some five hundred aid packages were shipped by trucks from “Privrednik” to Bosanska Kostajnica, another town devastated by the earthquake. Packages, worth some 135,000 kuna in hygiene products and food supplies, will be handed over to the Red Cross of Republic of Srpska in Kostajnica. From the early morning hours the packages were loaded by the members of the Archive of Serbs in Croatia, with the help of the members of the Workers’ Front.
