Go\u0161i\u0107 is a settlement located in Bukovica, Dalmatia, about ten kilometres west of Kistanje. According to the 1991 census, Go\u0161i\u0107 had 107 inhabitants, and according to the 2011 census, 46. The population of Go\u0161i\u0107 is almost exclusively Serbian.<\/p>\n
Date:<\/span><\/strong> 27 August 1995, around 4 p.m.<\/p>\n Description of the crime:<\/span><\/strong> On 27 August 1995, unknown perpetrators killed eight civilians in Go\u0161i\u0107 with gunfire. All the victims were Serbs, mostly elderly. They were killed in their homes and yards, in a village where there were no military activities either at the time or prior to the killings.<\/p>\n Information on the exhumation and identification of victims:<\/strong> According to human rights organisations, the victims were secretly buried without names by Ministry of the Interior personnel in the Knin cemetery, under grave numbers 543 to 550. In 2001, all bodies were exhumed, identified, and returned to their families.<\/p>\n Victims:<\/strong><\/p>\n Judicial consequences:<\/span> <\/strong>By merging the criminal proceedings concerning the crimes in Go\u0161i\u0107 and Varivode, six members of the Croatian security forces were initially suspected. However, following a trial at the County Court in Zadar and a retrial at the County Court in \u0160ibenik, the accused were acquitted. As a result, the investigation reverted to its initial stage, now directed against unknown perpetrators.
